Rabbanit Hanna Godinger (Dreyfuss), Rosh Yeshiva, Gemara be’iyun
Rabbanit Dreyfuss has learned at Migdal Oz, Matan, and Beit Morasha. She holds a BA in Philosophy and Psychology and an MA in Talmud. She served as Rabbanit Beit Sefer at Pelech High School, as Rosh Beit Midrash at Midreshet Lindenbaum, and as head of Metivta, the program in advanced Talmud at Matan.
Rabbanit Yael Shimoni, Assistant Rosh Yeshiva, Gemara be’iyun
Rabbanit Shimoni has learned at Migdal Oz, Matan, and the Susi Bradfield Women’s Institute for Halakhic Leadership at Midreshet Lindenbaum. She holds a BFA from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design and a BEd in Torah Shebe’al Peh and Jewish Thought from Herzog College. She is currently studying towards an MA in Jewish Thought Education at Herzog College. Rabbanit Shimoni taught gemara and halakha at Pelech High School and served as a ramit for shana bet at Migdal Oz. She directs Meshivat Nefesh, the online responsa program of the rabbaniyot of Beit Hillel. She is also a plastic artist and member of “A Studio of Her Own.”
Mrs. Daphna Nizan, Director of the Overseas Program
Daphna Ansel-Nizan made aliyah from Toronto after studying for a year in Midreshet Lindenbaum. Following her national service, she completed her BA at Bar Ilan University in Tanakh, Talmud, and Jewish Art, as well as her teaching certification. She has worked for the Lookstein Center for Jewish Education and taught at Michlelet Mevaseret Yerushalayim (MMY), Midreshet Torah V’Avodah (TVA), the Dr. Beth Samuels Drisha High School Summer Program, and Hartman High School for Girls, as well as for many summers at Camp Moshava. She is a graduate of the Advanced Gemara Program at Migdal Oz, and studied in their halakhah program for three years. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Talmud at Bar Ilan University as well as learning and directing the Overseas Program at Yeshivat Drisha.
Rabbanit Nechama Porat, Ramit – Shiur Alef
Rabbanit Porat has learned at Nishmat, Migdal Oz, and the Susi Bradfield Women’s Institute for Halakhic Leadership at Midreshet Lindenbaum. She holds a BEd in Torah Shebe’al Peh and Jewish Thought and is currently studying towards an MA in Jewish History. Rabbanit Porat served as a ramit at Midreshet Lindenbaum and as the head of Midreshet Zion in Washington, DC. She also teaches Gemara at the “Havruta” beit midrash program at the Hebrew University.
Rabbanit Ayelet Shlezinger, Ramit – Shiur Alef
Rabbanit Ayelet served as a ramit in Midreshet Lindenbaum for eight years, and in Migdal Oz for three years prior to that. She has taught Gemara b’iyun for the last four years at Chavruta Ein Karem, as well as in Matan. She studied for four years in Migdal Oz, followed by three years in the Advanced Talmud Institute at Matan. She holds a B.Ed. in Toshba from Michlelet Herzog.
Rabbanit Miriam Reisler, Ramit – Gemara bekiut
Rabbanit Reisler holds a BA in Computational Neuroscience from Harvard University, a BEd in Tanakh from Herzog College, and an MA in Talmud from Bar-Ilan University. She has taught limmudei kodesh in secondary institutions for women for more than 25 years. Rabbanit Reisler is the founder and director of Midreshet Afikim, a national beit midrash program for high school-aged girls, and the founder of the beit midrash program and the Talmud track at AMIT Noga High School. She teaches at Migdal Oz, Matan, and in the “Kulana” beit midrash. She writes curricula in Tanakh, Gemara, halakha, and Jewish thought for the Israeli Ministry of Education and the AMIT network of schools.
Rabbanit Lior Porat, Ramit – Gemara bekiut
Rabbanit Lior teaches Gemara at the Hartman High School for girls and at Migdal Oz. She is studying towards a Master’s Degree in Jewish History at Ben Gurion University. She holds a B.Ed in Toshba and Jewish History from Herzog College. She learned for five years at Migdal Oz, for three years in Matan’s Metivta program, and one year at the Advanced Kollel in Migdal Oz.
Rabbanit Shira Marili Mirvis, Ramit – Halacha
Rabbanit Shira is the rabbanit of the Shirat Hatamar Community and head of the religious council in Efrat. She is a graduate of the Susi Bradfield Women’s Institute of Halakhic Leadership at Midreshet Lindenbaum where she was trained in the areas of Shabbat, Niddah, Chuppa v’kiddushin, Brachot, and Issur v’heter. In the past she produced a weekly daf yomi vlog called “Daf Mishela’hen” in partnership with Hadran, and a weekly podcast on parashat hashavua called “Parasha Mishela’hen” in partnership with Makor Rishon. She is a member of Beit Hillel and answers halachic questions on the Meshivat Nefesh website. She is a graduate of the Mandel Leadership Institute and holds a B.A. in Psychology and Information Sciences from Bar Ilan University.
Rabbanit Haviva runs professional development programs through Lev Lada’at, Michlelet Herzog, where she mentors Tanach teachers in Israel and abroad. She teaches Tanach and holds a B.A. and Master’s degree in Tanach and Psychology from Bar Ilan University. She holds a doctorate from Haifa University. She has learned and taught in Matan in Jerusalem and in various teachers colleges.
Dr. Miri (Laor) Kahana, Tanach Iyun
Dr. Miri heads the Tanach Department at Michlelet Efrata and lectures there on language and Tanach. Her areas of academic interest are the Aramaic targumim of Tanach, and the teaching of Tanach and its commentaries. She studied for one year at Nishmat, three years in the Beit Midrash and Tanach program at Matan, and four years in Beit Morasha. She has taught at Nishmat, Matan, Migdal Oz, the Midrasha at Bar Ilan, Pelech High School, and others. She holds a Doctorate from the Hebrew Language Department at Hebrew University on the topic of Targum Yonatan on Trei Asar, and a teaching certificate in Tanach from Michlelet Herzog.
Dr. Tzachi Cohen, Midrash and Machshava
Dr. Cohen is a lecturer and researches literature, culture, and Judaism at Herzog College and Ono Academic College. His books “סיפורי פסוק לי פסוקך” and “?למה דומה קולנוע” were recently published.
Ms. Michal Cohen, Eim Bayit
Michal was previously the librarian at the Herzog Academic Library at the Migdal Oz campus. She holds a B.A. in literature and biology. She is responsible for the students’ social and personal well being, and provides emotional guidance for them during their studies at the Yeshiva.
Ms. Faigie Ariel, Office Manager and Operations
Faigie holds a B.A. in education from David Yellin College. She has worked in integration education and remedial teaching in a number of middle and high schools. She managed the Pelech middle school office for ten years.
